KATHMANDU, May 16: The Election Commission (EC) has re-scheduled polls in various polling centers after failing to conduct the elections there on May 14. Elections in various polling centers were cancelled after some candidates died before the elections.

POKHARA, May 16: Nothing else but the topic of election has gripped people in Pokhara at every crossroad, grounds, public area. They voted on Sunday and have not taken rest since than, anxiously waiting to know who would win and be the mayor of Pokhara- Lekhanath Metropolitan City.

SURKHET, May 16: Vote counting in Birendranagar Muncipality began at 2 pm, Monday. Hardly 100 votes could be counted by 5 pm. The main reason behind such a delay in vote counting is: the complicated ballot paper and rigidity of all political parties to count the votes at a single location.

KATHMANDU, May 16: Due to delay in the law-making process, newly elected local level representatives are unlikely to assume their offices soon after the election results.

KATHMANDU, May 16: As the counting of votes for Sunday's first phase local elections  begins at various local units, this task  has turned out to  be painstakingly slow, indicating that it may take weeks  if  the authorities don't find a way to speed  up the process.
