RAUTAHAT, Aug 20: Last week, six members of the same family lost their lives when an ambulance they were riding was washed away by flood. While his family members could not escape the mishap, Rajan Yadav was lucky to survive. He along with six other family members was headed for Gaur, the district headquarters of Rautahat, carrying his pregnant sister-in-law who was having labor pains. But they were drowned in the flooded Lalbakaiya River in Rajpur Farhadawa Chowk of India, as the ambulance was swept away.
CHITWAN, Aug 20: It has been a tough week for Bir Bahadur Chepang of Rapti Rural Municipality ward-6, Pyaridhap, who is currently mourning the loss of his 74-year-old mother Phulmati Praja Chepang. His mother died in the flood of August 13 on Saturday midnight.
NEPALGUNJ, Aug 20: As the recent flood swept away his books, copies and uniform, Ramesh Dangi of Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-4, Lalpur is worried about his studies. As the schools have resumed after the floods, he is wondering how he will go to his school now. He is a grade eight student at Dhampur based community school. "The teachers have already started teaching but I don't know how I will go to the school without books, copies and uniform," he wonders.
