KATHMANDU, Feb 6: A man died in a road accident that took place at Butwal Sub-metropolitan-2, Tinau Bridge. The deceased has been identified as Basu Acharya, 30, of Sandhikharka Municipality-1, Arghakhanchi, according to the Lumbini Province Traffic Police Office.

JUMLA, Feb 6: The Karnali provincial government has started sending helicopters to rescue the people trapped in the snow in Patan area. They had gone there to collect herbs. Due to continuous snowfall since Thursday, 55 locals of Tatopani-8 who had gone to the Patan area to collect herbs have gone out of contact. They could not be reached by phone. According to locals, they have currently taken shelter in Gagri and Aidi of Patan area. They are not able to return home due to the heavy snowfall.

JUMLA, Feb 6: As many as 55 people of Topla village of Tatopani Rural Municipality-8 of Jumla have gone out of contact due to heavy snowfall since Thursday. Two have died of asphyxiation. They had entered the Patan area to collect herbs and have since lost contact with anyone. Locals suspect that they might have been living in Gagri Odhar and Aidi Odhar of Patan.
