Quake jolts Lamjung

LAMJUNG, Jan 1: An earthquake was felt in Lamjung district this morning. The epicenter of the earthquake measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale was Bansar of Dordee Rural Municipality in the district. The quake hit at 10:13AM, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre.

‘Glacier area and volume decreasing’

KATHMANDU, Jan 1: A report on a study on climate change has made public the fact that the area and volume of glaciers in the Himalayan region are declining. The study report conducted by Transparency International (TI) Nepal in collaboration with ICIMOD and other organizations was made public in the capital on Friday.
