The global havoc caused by the Covid-19 pandemic has once again made the world leaders come together in containing this menacing virus. The proponents of ultra-nationalism have extended their hands for both helping and getting help even from their inimical states. The virus has impacted the world to the extent of igniting a debate on rechristening the era after this pandemic as After Corona (AC). This is a great call, after World War-II that formed the United Nations, to work together in addressing global challenges collectively.

Nepal’s new federal institutions are up against a formidable set of disasters: the COVID-19 pandemic and severe floods, along with the imminent lean season. The federal, provincial, and local levels of government need to coordinate to rise to these challenges. A large-scale survey of provincial and local government officials suggests that a data-driven approach to allocating funds can help.

The federal democratic republican constitution of Nepal is turning five this Asoj 3 (September 19). The document, in principle, addresses the needs and aspirations of the citizens who are united together for the purpose of resisting external intervention, upholding rule of law and preservation of sovereignty and integrity.

In principle and official pronouncements, India-Nepal relations have always an exemplary brotherly bond. The reality, however, is markedly different. People have voiced strong objections to such nominations, jeopardizing the legitimacy of the Assembly itself. People are talking of the Assembly as a place to settle the rejected political leaders.
