Know your inner self

- by Sandhya Niroula

You certainly would not do any of the things aforementioned. Instead you would ignore it and walk away. So, why do you often find yourself listening to the opinions of other people that you know are not true? You cannot stop them from expressing their negative comment towards you but what you can do is not let their comments affect you. While this may sound easier said than done, it is not impossible.

MATURITY

See no evil, hear no evil, and say no evil. This is the three monkey principle that every one of us has come across at one point in our lives. Additionally, our schools also preached the motto ‘Be good, Do good’. But what they fail to encompass is just because you close your eyes, the inherent evil in this world doesn’t dissipate, just like closing your eyes doesn’t transform day into night.

An introspective day at Patan

- by Prem Chaudhary

One eventful morning, I was getting ready to go to the hospital for regular my check-up. It wasn’t until I reached the hospital, that I found out that my doctor would be arriving an hour late. I couldn’t go home because I would be late for my work if I did, so I decided to roam around Patan Durbar Square. Although I had been to the place several times before, this day managed to change my perspective entirely. I first went to Krishna Mandir and worshipped the god of love and discipline: Krishna. Then I roamed around a little more and rested at a nearby temple. While sitting at the temple steps, my thoughts managed to break the serenity that I was in. I started thinking about my problems and the things that happened in my life. I always had a hard time letting things go and moving on. My problems seemed to weigh me down, and the worst part was I would often let it.

The unseen side of cricket

The unseen side of cricket

- by Ayush Regmi

11 years ago, the Cricket Association of the Blind Nepal (CAB Nepal) formed the first National Men’s Blind Cricket team in 2006. People had seen blind men play in tournaments but not women. This all changed in 2009 when the CAB Nepal established the first ever Women’s Blind Cricket Team in the world. Despite this achievement, there hasn’t been much advancement in the field of blind cricket. While the condition of this sport is still poor, women have it worse because a gender bias still exists. Regardless, women are still persevering and determined in spite of their hardships.
