KATHMANDU, Dec 5: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli said that he was ‘insulted’ during an all-party meeting held at Seetal Niwas, Maharajgunj yesterday.

During the meeting, which was summoned by President Bidya Devi Bhandari to seek a solution to the current political stalemate, top leaders of the political parties represented in Parliament had expressed their views.

Speaking at the meeting, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba clarified that the government has taken the same proposal forward that had been signed by then NC President Sushil Koirala and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.

When Deuba noticed Oli whisper in UML Vice-chairman Bamdev Gautam’s ears, the former sounded, “Hello Mister” in a bid to draw Oli’s attention.

Oli said that he was intentionally demoralized by Deuba using the insulting phrase and accused him of “behaving like an army commander in front of his subordinates.”

Touching his nerves further, Deuba suggested to Oli not to misjudge Madhesi people as “anti-nationalist.”

Top leaders of the political parties including UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, Naya Shakti Party Nepal Coordinator Dr Baburam Bhattarai, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Chariman Mahantha Thakur, Federal Socialist Form-Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav, among others, had expressed their views in the meeting.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari had called an all-party meeting in a bid to seek solution to the current imbroglio at Sheetal Niwas yesterday.

Protests have erupted in various places including the Kathmandu Valley and Province 5 following the registration of the seven-point constitution amendment bill in Parliament by the government on November 29.
