PM Dahal greeted with black flags in Dhangadhi

DHANGADHI, Dec 8: CPN-UML cadres on Thursday greeted Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal with black flags.

UML cadres showed the black flags to PM Dahal at LN Chowk while he was heading for Geta of the district from a hotel for cadres’ training.

Despite presence of security personnel in large number, protesters managed to greet PM Dahal with the black flags.    

UML’s student and youth wings have enforced a shutdown in the city since two days against the visit by the Prime Minister. They have accused PM Dahal of bringing the constitution amendment bill at the behest of India.

Meanwhile, life has been hit hard in the district due to the strike.Transportation has come to a complete halt, while most of the educational institutions and shops have remained closed. 


Over 1,000 security personnel of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been mobilized in view of the PM’s visit. 

Chief District Officer Govinda Rijal told Republica Online that no untoward incidents have been reported till now as security has been beefed up.
