KATHMANDU, Dec 9: Metropolitan Police Range Office, Bhaktapur, has arrested three people on the alleged charge of stealing Rs 3.5 from Thamel-based Jyu De Siang Hotel.

The arrested have been identified as Tirtha  Thapa Magar, 17, Chandra Thapa Magar, 23 and Tika Thapa Magar, 27, of Lakhanpur VDC-6, Ramechhap, currently staying at Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-3, Bhaktapur.

According to police, Chandra Thapa Magar and Tirtha Thapa Magar, staffers at Jyu De Siang Hotel operated by Chinese national Yuebing Thang, had allegedly stolen Rs 3.5 million from the hotel on September 14.

Based on the complaint filed by hotelier Thang, police launched an investigation and were able to arrest Chandra, Tirtha and Tika from the house of Shivram Dhaubanjar on December 7, where they were living in a rented flat.

Police have also seized Rs 4,65, 000, a Pulsar motorcycle (Ba  80 Pa 7341 220 CC) and a land certificate on the name of Tika Thapa Magar.

The arrested have been sent to Metropolitan Police Circle, Sohrakhutte for further action.
