POKHARA, Jan 6: The concerned stakeholders have called for prioritizing the renewable energy by setting up biogas plants to supplant the energies produced from the water resources and forest.

The participants at a one-day regional orientation program organized by Minister for Population and Environment, Alternate Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) and Renewable Energy Programme in collaboration with District Development Committee, Kaski insisted on adopting renewable energy.

AEPC'S Bikul Shrestha said the biogas or compost manure can be created through decomposable waste and animal faeces and also sold in the market for self-dependency.

Local Development Officer (LDO), Bal Ram Dhakal, said the farm owners should benefit the most from the renewable energy program being run by the Nepal Government under financial assistance from UNDP. RSS
