FNJ announces dates for holding conventions of district chapters

KATHMANDU, Jan 12: Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has decided to hold conventions of its district, media house chapters and associates in eight different stages.

The 11th Central Committee meeting of the FNJ held on January 11 and 10 under the chairmanship of Mahendra Bista took a decision to this effect.

According to the decision, the FNJ will hold convention of Gorkha, Lamjung, Tanahun, Kaski, Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi, Gulmi, Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Syanga, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, and Nawalparasi district chapters on February 14.

While the date for Manang and Mustang district chapters will be fixed later depending upon the weather condition.                             

On February 18, the FNJ will conduct the conventions of Tehrathum, Panchthar, Taplejung, Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Dhankuta , Bhojpur, Khotang, Okhaldhunga, Solukhumbu, Sankhuwasabha, Udayapur, Siraha and Saptari district chapters.

Similarly, on February 23, the FNJ will hold conventions of Rukum, Rolpa, Pyuthan, Salyan, Jajarkot, Banke, Bardiya, Surkhet and Dailekh district chapters.

Likewise, the FNJ has set February 28 for holding conventions of Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, Dhanusha, Kavre, Mahottarai, Sarlahi, Bara, Parsa, Makawanur, Chitwan, Dhading, Nuwakot and Rasuwa.

According to the statement issued by FNJ, on March 5, the conventions of Kailali, Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, Doti, Achham, Bajura, Baitari, Darchula and Bajhang will be held.

On March 7, the conventions of all the Kathmandu Valley-based media house chapters will be held while on March 8, the FNJ will hold conventions of its associates.

Similarly, the FNJ has set March 9 for holding conventions of Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Kathmandu including the all the districts of Karnali zone.

Similarly, the meeting also endorsed the Directory /Procedure on Federation of Nepali Journalists Chapter Elections 2064 (3rd amendment) for holding elections of media house and district chapters and its associates.

Meanwhile, a report comprising applications filed for new memberships, grievances and complaints has been submitted to the FNJ Central Committee.
