Trade festival commences with a religious procession

KHAJURA (Banke), Jan 24: A procession featuring Hindu guru and a Muslim imam on a single chariot was taken out at Khajura of Banke and spreading the message of religious harmony and tolerance in its wake on Monday. 

The procession was held before the inauguration of a trade fair starting the same day at Khajura of Bageshwori VDC in the district. 

Hindu Guru, Chandranath Yogi, and Muslim imam, Maulana Jabbar Manjari, were taken around the marketplace in a chariot for district-wide publicity on social and religious harmony, said Modern Youth Network, which organized the event. 

The trade fair dubbed Baba First Trade Festival aims to promote agriculture, tourism and culture and will be held until February 3, according to Youth Network's Chairman, Tilak Bir Sunar. 

A total of 70 stalls are put on display as organizers expect a total trade transaction to hit Rs 6 million with more than 70,000 visitors. Lawmaker, Dal Bahadur Sunar, inaugurated the festival amidst a grand ceremony. RSS
