PSC server goes down, secretary says problem being fixed

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Public Service Commission’s (PSC) website went down on Monday just a day before the deadline to submit applications for the post of Nayab Subba (NaSu) would expire.

The PSC server went down after excessive pressure caused by a huge number of online applicants.

The PSC receives applications only through its website.

Secretary of PSC, Madhu Regmi told Republica Online that the server went down after excessive pressure of the applicants and that technicians are trying to fix the problem.

‘‘We are trying to solve the problems in the website. Hopefully, the problem will be resolves soon as the technicians are working on it. '

‘No applicant should be deprived’
The deadline to submit applications will expire tomorrow. Thousands of people didn’t get to submit their applications after the server went down.

Regmi said, ‘‘No applicant should be deprived of the chance to apply. We will decide on that.’’

The commission wants more and more applications, he added. ‘‘The commission wants more and more applications. Everyone eligible should get the chance to apply. We are well aware of that.’’

PSC has been receiving job applications through the website for over a  year now.
