LALITPUR, March 6: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his hope that the Nepal Army's National Cadet Corps training has helped promote the feelings of patriotism and unity among youths and encourage them to tread on the path of nation building. 

Addressing the convocation ceremony of 12th batch senior division training conducted by the NA Rastriya Sewa Dal (National Cadet Corps) today, the Prime Minister said such training has helped youths who are the backbone for nation building to be disciplined, groom leadership skill and have knowledge on disaster management, motivating them to serve the nation. 

He hoped that sufficient human resources required for the nation building could be managed if youths were discouraged to move out the country. "I also took this training," the Prime Minister recalled on the occasion, adding that this type of training would inspire youths to use their strength, valor and enthusiasm for the sake of welfare of the nation. 

Those human resources trained by the Dal are capable of incomparably contributing to search, rescue and providing relief at times of minor to major natural disasters and accidents, he said, adding that the necessity of such type of training was highly realised in a Nepal-like country which is at a high risk of natural disasters. 

Such training would help youths to use their, strength, valor and enthusiasm for the welfare of the nation. 

He further expressed his hope that military and other practical knowledge shared in the training would help one establish oneself as a disciplined and hardworking citizen. The government, Nepal Army and Rastriya Sewa Dal would feel proud to see the trainees establishing themselves as a successful leadership in the society. 

Lack of promptness in the policy-making level and dedicated human resources are the major challenges for the country's development, he said, adding that a huge outflow of educated community has caused a loss to the country. 

Dal's Chief advisor Honorary Major General Dr Ramindra Chhetri said so far 26,800 students (girls and boys) were benefited from the training being conducted by the organisation to groom up the leadership among the youth community raising the feelings of patriotism. 

Established in 1966 with the objective of producing disciplined, honest and dutiful human resources in the country, the Rastriya Sewa Dal (RSD) has recently imparted training to students from 90 schools across 66 districts 

A total of 3,565 students of secondary level and 435 of higher secondary have received training from the RSD during the current fiscal year. 

Furthermore, the RSD has been provided 21-day long communal leadership training to students in Nawalparasi, Sunsari and Banke. Students from nine such schools took part in today's convocation ceremony whom PM Dahal feted with certificate and award. 

The training would be expanded to rest of other nine districts too, it was shared. 

Those performing outstanding during the training are provided with youth exchange fellowship to India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
