KATHMANDU, March 9: Communist Party of Nepal(CPN)-Mashal  has condemned the Madhesh-based political parties for giving the government seven day ultimatum for getting  their political demands met.

Issuing a press release, CPN-Mashal Secretary General Mohan Bikram Singh has said that his party has taken this ultimatum very seriously. He has termed the demand of Madhesh-based parties to approve the Constituent amendment bill as being anti-nationalist and condemnable.

He has thanked Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal for announcing the date of local polls despite strong opposition from the Madhesh-based parties. He has said that the announcement of local polls by the government is a bold decision.

He has warned against  the possible serious consequences of holding the local polls in abeyance.  If their demand for endorsing constitution amendment bill is met, the whole Terain region will be geographically separate from the Hilly region, he said. He interprets this geographical separation between the Hill and the Terai as the precondition for the separation of the whole Terai region from Nepal.
