BIRATNAGAR, March 20: The chairman of Madhesi People's Right's Forum-Democratic, Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, has expressed his delight regarding the rumors about him joining the Nepali Congress (NC).
According to him, it was a pleasant surprise to know that members of the NC were holding discussion about his possible entry into the party, which he left for the sake of Madhesis' cause. Gachchhadar believes that anything can happen in politics.
“I am elated that Congress has realized my importance,” said Gachchhadar. Speaking with mediapersons in Biratnagar Airport on Sunday, he said, “There is a saying that 'politics is a game of possibility' and you don't know what might happen next.” He further informed that no official talks have taken place in this regard.
“I have been meeting with friends of NC almost every day and they keep requesting me to join their party,” said Gachchhadar, adding, “We might discuss about party unification and coordination in the local level elections in the official meeting.”
He says it is obvious for the NC to feel his need at the moment when the country is going through a crucial phase. “It is all up to Congress depending on how much big party it wants to be in the upcoming local elections,” he added.
Gachchhadar further informed that he is seeking a roadmap from the government to solve the current political impasse. “I have sought government's agenda to solve the current issues and that will determine our participation in the local elections,” he added.
