ILAM, April 2:Rumpum Jhapa XI has reached the quarterfinals of the ongoing Third Mai Valley Gold Cup Football Tournament defeating Agni Rupandehi XI 4-3 in tiebreaker on Sunday.

In the second quarterfinal clash of the tournament played in Ilam, both sides couldn't score any goal in the normal time. Hence the match was pushed to the tiebreaker.

Rajin Dhimal, Ranjit Shrestha, Pujan Uparkoti and Karna Limbu scored for Jhapa XI while Dilen Moktan failed to score from the spot.

Similarly, Bijay Dhimal, Kalu Thapa and Laxman Ruchal netted for Rupandehi XI while Niraj Basnet and Heman Gurung's shots weren't converted. 

Now the Jhapa-based outfit will face the winner between CMG Club Sankata and Armed Police Force (APF) on Thursday. 

Meanwhile, in the third quarterfinal of the tournament, Nepal Police Club will take on A Division rival Manang Marsyangdi Club.
