KATHMANDU, April 23: The 18th Democracy Day is being celebrated with various programs today.

It commemorates the historic event when the direct rule of the then King Gyanendra Shah came to an end, heralding the dawn of a new Nepal. This significant day is observed on Baisakh 11 every year.
