KATHMANDU, April 29: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal  is working day and night in order to make the upcoming elections successful at any cost, and thereby implementing the constitution and institutionalizing the achievements to date.

In the past week, the Prime Minister has been holding a marathon of high-level political meetings and talks, discussion and debate with all stakeholders, encouraging the leadership in the Tarai-Madhesh and the hills to resolve all problems through the medium of understanding, collaboration and dialogue.

Accordingly, he has held various rounds of talks with the Madhesh-centric leaders while hosting all party meetings including the ruling and the opposition to narrow down the differences. Prime Minister Prachanda has all his eyes focused on institutionalizing the federal democratic republic by taking the country towards election after making constitution acceptable to all sides.

For this, the government has also registered a new constitution amendment proposal at the Legislature-Parliament with the confidence of winning the trust of the main opposition as well as the Madhesh-centric parties.

He has made the pious plan to take the country towards elections by forging consensus in the issues like budget for the upcoming fiscal year, phase-wise elections and counting of vote. The Madhes-centric parties have agreed to come on board the elections after the repeated talks and dialogues.

The agitating Madhes-centric parties have also agreed to keep the issues of delineation aside, the major concern of the Madhesi parties.

The Prime Minister's continuous talks and parleys seem to have yielded results to patch up the Madhes-based parties that were expressing their dissatisfaction since the constitution writing process.

The main opposition and agitating parties should not and cannot devalue the magnanimity of the Prime Minister.

In the last one week, PM Prachanda held talks with the leaders of political parties represented in the House, with main opposition CPN (UML), with Madhesi Morcha, with five political parties and the ruling parties as well as with his own fellow comrades besides with the commissioners of the Election Commission, focusing on constitution amendment and local level polls.

Such activeness on the part of the country's head of executive is a positive step for the country and the people. But, suspicion looms large whether the deep-rooted ego problem was the major cause behind the deadlock.

The PM's roles are unparalleled on People's War, People's Movement, conclusion of the peace process, promulgation of the Constitution of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal and the lead role in the reconstruction bids of the quake-hit properties.

PM Dahal's Press Advisor Govinda Acharya has said that the PM is active almost every day to unite the nation and take the nation towards polls. "The PM is focused to implement the constitution and make the local level polls a success," Acharya added.
Minister for Science and Technology Prem Bahadur Singh said that the commitment of the Madhesh-centric parties to join the election process even if their minimum demands are fulfilled is positive, and the government is working to make that happen. "The Prime Minister's effort to bring both the sides to a consensus based on a point-wise discussion on the matter is very positive, which would definitely give a way out," he said talking to RSS.
Minister for Urban Development and NC leader Arjun Nar Singh said the people are eagerly looking forward to the elections and the government is committed to meet their aspirations. Hence, there is no alternative for parties to understand the sentiment of the people, and forge a consensus. RSS
