BAGLUNG, May 2: Major political parties have filed their nominations for the upcoming local level elections in the district on Tuesday.

Fourteen political parties and some independent candidates have registered their candidacies in the district today.

The nomination was filed in all 10 local units peacefully, said chief returning officer Himlal Belbase.

Nepali Congress fielded Basanta Kumar Shrestha as mayor for Baglung Municipality and Shakuntala Sharma as deputy mayor.  

Similarly, CPN (Maoist Center) has fielded Kushum Budha and Nirmal Shrestha as mayor and deputy mayor for Baglung Municipality respectively.

 Likewise, CPN-UML has fielded Janak Paudel as mayor while Rastriya Prajatantra Party has fielded Surendra Khadka as deputy mayor for Baglung municipality.
