UDAYAPUR, May 3: A bomb disposal team of Nepal Army defused six socket bombs in Udaypurgadhi Rural Municipality-6, Udayapur district on Tuesday.

The socket bombs were recovered from the field of a local farmer of Sirubani on Monday. A team of Nepal Army's Bhawani Battalion Company, Taraghari, Katari led by Captain Bharat Giri defused the bombs the next day.

According to the army, the bombs were really powerful but they were defused without any harm. Army officials think that these bombs must have been hidden below the ground there during the Maoist insurgency. During the conflict period, Udaypur was one of the most security-sensitive areas.
