Four arrested for abduction attempt

KAWASWOTI, July 14: The Nawalpur Area Police Office arrested and made public four people who were involved in abduction attempt of a minor for ransom.

Police nabbed Khadka Bahadur Sunar, 28, of Tilottama-3 of Rupandehi, Hem Bahadur Sunar, 22, of same place, Samuel Rasaili, 20, and Sandeep BK of Devchuli municipality-1, Nawalparasi.

Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) at Nawalpur Area Police Office Rakesh Thapa shared that police team arrested Khadka and Hem Bahdur from Butwal and Sandip and Samuel from Devchuli.

"Four are in police net now. Search for remaining two is also on", DSP Thapa said.

Police also recovered a red-colored Pulsar motorbike, Na 37 Pa 5480, and two mobile sets used in abducting a child for ransom.

Three motorcycle borne people had abducted seven-year-old Prasidda Sapkota, a first grader of Biswojyoti Residential Secondary School, Pragatinagar, four months ago.

However, the criminal group could not take away the child due to presence of community people. However, they had been frequently threatening child's father Bishnu Sapkota for money.

Thapa informed that the police held the main negotiator. They had demanded Rs 10 million and came to negotiation at Rs 1 million, said Sapkota. RSS
