UML clinches victory in Gokulganga and Umakunda rural municipalities

RAMECHHAP, May 17:  UML candidate Khadga Bahadur Sunuwar has been elected as chief of Gokulganga Rural Municipality. He has secured 3,551 votes. For the post of deputy chief, UML candidate Radhika Shreshta has been elected with 3,638 votes. 

Sunuwar’s closest rival of Nepali Congress Nani Babu  Basnet got 3,152 votes.

Similarly, in Umakunda Rural Municipality, UML candidate Sher Bahadur Sunuwar has been elected as chief with 3, 175 votes while NC candidate Urmila Karki Basnet was elected as deputy chief with 2,313 votes.

Her closest rival of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nagendra Bahadur Basnet got 1,301.

There are two municipalities and six rural municipalities in the Ramechhap district.

Of the total 64 wards in the district, the results of 34 wards have been declared.
