Celebs monsoon style

In this gloomy season with frequent rainfall, not many people are enthusiastic and they care less to try out different styles and fashion. Feeling lazy and not wanting to dress up is not surprising at all.

This goes for everyone, from the common people to the ones constantly in the spotlight. My City’s Ashma Aryal caught up with these four personalities, curious to know about their monsoon fashion style.

Monsoon for you and things about it
Monsoon is called the season of love and glamour because of the rain, moist weather and the colorful dress-ups. It's a colorful season that catches a person’s eye so yes, I like monsoon.

Clothing choice
My choice of clothing for monsoon is light and colorful wears like shorts, t -shirts and sneakers; shirt and light jeans with slippers / sneakers. So it's more of a casual outfit to go for the season.

Accessories preferred
I wear wrist watch and band most of the time.

Footwear you like
I prefer sneakers, half converse, slippers and Vans.

Style mantra
I put normal sun block / body lotion to prevent suntan and oil control cream to avoid pimples. I wash my face twice a day to moisturize the skin and remove dirt. And hair cream to give it a wet look.

Monsoon for you and things about it
Monsoon season brings change in weather, from hot and dry to wet and humid. I personally have a love-hate relationship with monsoon season. I love rain, the smell of wet soil but the fact that the work gets interrupted and shoots get cancelled bums me a little.

Clothing choice
My go-to outfit for monsoon is definitely dresses and casuals.

Accessories preferred
I am a minimalist in terms of accessories. Wrist watch is my all-time favorite along with some jewelry here and there.

Footwear you like
I like comfortable footwear. Happy feet, happy me!

Style mantra
It's always best to wear waterproof makeup regardless of the weather. I swear by Makeup Forever HD Foundation. Also waterproof mascara works wonders. Big, beautiful, bright eyes are always in. I also use anti-frizz hair products from L'Oreal for my hair. So, for me, everything comes down to a good moisturizer, foundation, a light lip tint from Benefit and lots and lots of mascara.

Namrata Shrestha
Actor/ Film Maker

Monsoon for you and things about it
Monsoon season is productive in terms of agriculture and all. But since I’m an actor and movie maker, this season is down time as normally outdoor shoots can’t be done. So, I prefer staying home and working on script(s). In monsoon, one needs to take extra care. I love the rain, the fresh earthy smell after the rain and the view of Kathmandu valley afterwards.

Clothing choice
Since monsoon season is all about rain and mud, I prefer to wear dresses not longer than knee-length like skirts, shorts or comfortable crop pants.

Accessories preferred
Shades, hat and umbrella.

Footwear you like
I just wear flip-flops and wedge sandals.

Style mantra
For makeup, I use sun block, lip gloss or lip balm and for hairstyles, I do a top knot or tie a ponytail.

Rohit John Chettri
Singer/Song Writer

Monsoon for you and things about it
Monsoon blossoms plants, flowers and nature, and that is what I like the most about monsoon. Personally, I like to stay indoors during monsoon because the Kathmandu road isn’t the best during this season.

Clothing choice
Anything but white shoes. I also carry weatherproof jacket with me.

Accessories preferred
I prefer wearing a watch, beaded wristband and ear-studs.

Footwear you like
I have a nice collection of shoes. I love new balance for casual wear but I try not to wear white shoes like Reebok classic/superstar/leather during monsoon.

Style mantra
I use L’Oreal professional shampoo and L’Oreal professional hair serum for my hair. And I do hair treatment twice a month.
