None of forces on earth capable of putting off local polls: Khanal

ILAM, June 19: Former Prime Minister of Nepal Jhal Nath Khanal has asserted that none of the forces on the earth is capable of forcing parties to put off  the local polls slated for June 28.

Talking to journalists in his home district Ilam today morning, Khanal said the process of candidacy registration took place on Sunday in a way that interested people.

Khanal is in home district  for election campaign.

Speaking in a different context, Khanal opined that none of the forces could force parties to put off local polls in Province 2 if they had remained adamant on the stance that polls schedule should not be changed in any circumstance.

“Local level elections slated for June 28 were put off in Province as parties became ready to capitulate to the pressure from few Madhesi leaders”, said former PM Khanal.

He also claimed that like in  in the local level elections held on May 18,  a majority of people will vote for CPN-UML in the forthcoming polls too.
