NC taking lead in Udayapur district

UDAYAPUR, July 1: Nepali Congress is taking lead in the local level elections in four municipalities in the Udayapur district.

According to the latest vote count updates, NC mayoral candidate Basanta Basnet has secured 2,007 votes while her closest rival of CPN-UML candidate Bal Dev Chaudhary got 1957 votes. Similarly, Maoist Center’s Kiran  Rai is trailing way behind with 1,917 votes.

In Katari Municipality, NC candidate Gyanendra Man Singh Raut got 2,818 votes. Maoist Center’s KP Baral got 2,620 votes while UML candidate Gyanendra Shrestha is in the third position with 2,513 votes.

Similarly, for the post of deputy mayor, UML’s Bhim Kumari Raut is taking lead with 2707 votes, NC is in the second position with 2620 votes while Maoist Center is trailing way behind with 2,547 votes.

In Belaka Municipality, Ashok Karki is ahead with 1,850 votes, UML candidate Durga Kumar Thapa got 1,146 votes, while Maoist Center’s Raman Bhattarai has got 649 votes.

Similarly, Chaudandigadhi Municipality, NC is taking the lead. NC candidate Khagendra Rai got 1,125 votes, UML candidate Narendra Rau got 1,049 votes while Maoist Center’s Kumar Singh Karki got 790 votes.
