Jay Sean Live At Déjà Vu

KATHMANDU: Youhaan International Events Media organized a press conference to announce Jay Sean’s concert at Soaltee Crowne Plaza, in Soltee Mode on Wednesday. The concert will be held on July 12 in Club Déjà vu, Durbarmarg 7:00 pm onwards.

According to the organizers, the concert will also have Nepali DJs and bands perform alongside Jay Sean. Jay Sean, a top Billboards artist is a British R&B singer and songwriter. Sean’s songs have topped charts not only in western countries but also in Nepal and India. His songs were number one in the British charts for four consecutive years from 2009-2012.

Sean’s has over 1.47 million followers in twitter and on more than 6.59 million in Facebook. The organizers stated that one of the main reasons for inviting Sean in Nepal was that he is popular amongst Nepali youth. Sean is set to arrive in Nepal on July 11 along with his DJ and band. He will be returning back shortly after his concert on July 12.

Bringing the British singer to Nepal and organizing a concert for him has been quite difficult a task for Youhaan International Events Media as Sean is paid in millions abroad unlike he will be here, mentioned Director of the company, Shanu Khan.

“It is difficult to find sponsors in our country for such big events. We understand that Nepali youths wish for Eminem or Metallica concerts, but the sponsorship issue is our main hurdle. It will take at least 20 years for us to bring famous international artists to perform in Nepal,” said Khan.

Khan said they were expecting around 4,000-6,000 people at the concert. The tickets will be available in silver (Rs 2,500), VIP (Rs 3,500) and VVIP tickets (Rs 5,000) from July 5 at all Bhatbhateni outlets and other malls.
