Special Hour- lawmakers raise concerns on contemporary issues

KATHMANDU, July 24: Lawmakers, speaking during zero and special hour of the Legislature-Parliament on Monday, drew the government's attention towards contemporary issues. 

They took the time to accuse the government of not becoming serious towards addressing contemporary problems facing the country. 

They demanded the management of an alternative route to the Larcha bridge in the northern part of Sindhupalachowk. The bridge was damaged a flood yesterday. 
Kanta Bhattarai raised her concern over budget freeze ( Rs 41 billion ) of the National Reconstruction Authority. 

Laxmi Rai demanded a fair probe in the killing of three girls at Arun Rural Municipality in Bhojpur district. 

Saying although the rights of locals are established along with local-level election, untouchability towards Dalit is still existing, lawmaker Dulari Harijan demanded the government bring such persons under the ambit of law. 

Similarly, Leela Devi Shrestha drew government's attention to encroachment of more than 60 hectares of land of Nepal at south border point while Mahendra Raya Yadav demanded the passage of the constitution amendment bill soon. 

Likewise, Dr Subodh Kumar Pokharel complained over dillydallying to carryout activities by parliamentary committee formed to carry out investigation into irregularities reported during the election. 

Expressing concern over increasing cases of caste-based discrimination, Kamala Bishwokrama drew the attention of the government in this regard while Mina Pun expressed sadness over the jeep accident took place in Baglung on Monday . 

Other lawmakers including Laxman Rajbanshi, Sharada Poudel, Amrit Kumar Bohara, Mohan Basnet, Kamal Prasad Pangeni, Kalpana Sharma Joshi and Bishal Bhattarai drew government's attention towards contemporary issues. RSS
