Who are three female ministers in cabinet?

KATHMANDU, July 26: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expanded his cabinet on Wednesday.  He has given space to only three female candidates in his 29-member team. Ambika Basnet, Asha Koirala and Mithila Chowdhary have been appointed as ministers of various ministries. 

Ambika Basnet

Started her political career from 1972, newly appointed Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Ambika Basnet is the only female minister to be included in the cabinet from Nepali Congress.

Graduate in economics and political science from Tribhuvan University, Basnet had worked under the leadership of Nona Koirala in women department of the party and is the former President of Nepali Congress-aligned Nepal Women's Union. She has been elected as the lawmaker in first and second Constituent Assembly under the proportional representation. 

Asha Koirala

Newly appointed Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, Asha Koirala represents from Province no 4. Started her political career since the beginning of Maoist insurgency, Koirala was the head of the parallel government in Tanahun during the period.

Mithila Chowdhary

Started her political career since 1984, newly appointed Minister for Population and Environment represents CPN(Unified) in the cabinet.
