KATHMANDU: The 7th edition of ‘SAARC Artists Camp and Exhibition of Paintings 2017’ is scheduled to be held from Friday to Monday at Gokarna Forest Resort, Kathmandu.
As many as 40 artists from India Maldives, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan and Sir Lanka will participate in the event, according to a press meet organized by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
Kishani Jayasinghe - Wijayasekara, deputy director of programs at SAARC Culture Center, Sri Lanka informed, “This year, the theme of the camp and exhibition is ‘Scared Sites and Beauty of Nature’ and the setting of Gokarna Forest Resort will definitely inspire the artists.”
Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) Ragini Upadhyay Grela shared, “We have selected artists from various age groups, who practice in various forms such as contemporary, modern, folk and more. And there are six Nepali women and four men artists. The event is being organized for the first time in Nepal.”
