RPP not to immediately join government

KATHMANDU, July 28: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is not joining the present government immediately. 

A meeting of the party's central office-bearers presided over by party chairman Kamal Thapa Friday also reached to a conclusion that the government was not serious on addressing the Madhes problem and constitution implementation. 

However, the party has decided to retain its support to the government for the time being and to take an appropriate decision on this matter at suitable time. The meeting made an assessment of the current political situation in the country. 

The party has decided to organize conventions in the six provinces where the local level elections have been held, within September 16, spokesman for the party, Bhuwan Pathak, said. 

The party convention for Province 1 would be held in Jhapa, for Province 3 in Hetauda, for Province 4 in Pokhara, for Province 5 in Nepalgunj, for Province 6 in Surkhet and for Province 7 in Kanchanpur. The convention in Province 2 would be organized after the local election there is held. The local-level election in Province 2 is scheduled on September 18. 

Likewise, the meeting decided to hold the party's class organizations' elections within December 15 this year and to organize the Nepal as Hindu Nation awareness assemblies in every Rural Municipality, Municipality and Province until September 16. 

The party also has set the programme of organizing the extensive Sanatana Dharma religious conferences in all the seven provinces within September 16. RSS
