KATHMANDU, August 22: Oscar’s selection committee formed by Nepal Oscar Selection Committee.Oscars Nepal, Tribhuwan University has released a press statement confirming that Deepak Rauniyar’s ‘White Sun’ has been nominated for the Academy Awards this year. 

This year, Navin Awal’s ‘Bijuli Machine’ and Deepak Rauniyar’s ‘White Sun’ were the two applicants for nomination in the Academy Awards from Nepal.   

According to the press statement released by Oscar Nepal on Sunday, ‘White Sun’ met all prescribed guidelines for Oscar nomination and hence was chosen to represent Nepal in The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for ‘Best Foreign Language Film’.  The movie had received wide admiration for its unique and emotional story-telling, and videography.
