Deakin University offers 25 percent scholarship

KATHMANDU, Sept 14: Deakin University, Australia organized #iWeekDeak in 2017, in Kathmandu, on Sunday at Hotel Annapurna, Durbar Marg. According to the press statement released by Deakin University, the primary objective was to profile key areas of studies across four faculties at the University.

Around 20 academic and non-academic staff from Deakin were present to interact with over 100 enthusiastic students who had enrolled for the #iWeekDeakin session in Kathmandu.

The press statement quoted Priyanka Singh, senior manager at International Marketing and Recruitment (South Asia) of Deakin University, Australia, as saying, “We have come to Nepal to meet prospective students and offer them our courses. It is extremely important for a student to select an appropriate course for right career choice and choose the best university. Our faculties met with students individually to discuss various career opportunities and help them choose the right one.”

She added, “We also wanted to make them aware of the reality so we had our officials sharing their student life. We engaged with about 150 prospective students.

As Deakin University continues to be at the top slot for employability, it has pioneered to support its international student in this aspect. Deakin offers meritorious scholarships up to 25 percent for eligible Nepali students. I am also happy to share that we have introduced 100 percent scholarship for Nepali high achievers.”

The format of the sessions included generic presentations on Deakin scholarships, student support and key dates, among others, followed by presentations by senior representatives from the Australian High Commission/AUSTRADE on how international students can benefit from higher studies in Australia.
