UML cadres injured in NC-UML clash

RAUTAHAT, Sept 19: Cadres of Nepali Congress have attacked two CPN-UML cadres including a candidate at the counting center. The clashes took place between UML and NC cadres when the counting was underway at Brindaban Municipality.

It has been learnt that the clashes took place when UML lawmaker Ram Kumar Bhattarai, who reached the counting counter, was obstructed  by the NC cadres.

 In the clash that ensued following the dispute, UML candidate Dharmendra Patel and cadre Sunil Patel of Brindaban Municipality-6 were injured. They have received head injuries. They are undergoing treatment at a local health post.

The vote counting was halted after the booth representatives came out of the center, Laxman Ghimire, returning officer of Brindaban Municipality, told Republica Online.
