KATHMANDU, Sept 22: Jawalakhel Group of Industries (JGI) is organizing the Master Selection Golf Tournament-2017, to mark the centennial anniversary of Royal Nepal Golf Club (RNGC), from September 22 to 23. 

Organizing a press meet in the capital on Thursday, coordinator of the tournament Kishor Agrawal said that a total of 100 golfers (92 men and 8 women) will take part in the event. 

“The members of the club will participate. We have also invited ambassadors from foreign diplomatic missions based in Kathmandu for the tournament,’’ Agrawal said: “The tournament is being organized keeping in mind the increasing popularity of golf.’’ 

President of JGI Srihar Sumsher Rana said that they are always working for the promotion of golf in Nepal and will continue doing just that.  ‘‘This tournament will help promotion of golf in Nepal,” Rana added: “We will keep on organizing such events in the days to come.” 

The winner of the tournament will be awarded with Kathmandu-Bangkok-Kathmandu tickets for a couple, while the runner-up will get Kathmandu-Delhi-Kathmandu tickets. 

The tournament will be played under stable ford three-fourths handicap format, informed the organizers.
