5 things about Barsha Raut

Barsha Raut is one of the renowned faces in Nepali music and film industries. She started her career as an actor with the music video ‘Rojeko Maile’ in 2013. Her one of the most acclaimed works as an actor was in the movie ‘Nai Nabhannu La 4’ in 2016. She has so far been featured in about 200 music videos and three movies. Barsha is currently gearing up for the release of her next movie ‘Chhaka Panja 2’.

In conversation with My City’s Sonam Lama, Barsha revealed five things that many may not know about her.

A make-up collector

Although Barsha is rarely fond of applying make-up, she owns a huge collection of cosmetics, especially lipsticks. She splurges on branded make-up products and ends up buying them from every country she visits. “I am not brand conscious when it comes to buying clothes, however, in case of make-up items, I choose the best brands that suit my skin tone and protect my skin,” said Barsha.

A pet lover

She owns a pet called Dalley, who is ‘quite mischievous’ to give her a cheerful company. After she lost her earlier pet, which was a parrot, her dog has been one of the reasons she has an energizing day at home. Although she doesn’t like her pet messing around with her stuff, most of the times she lets Dalley do whatever he likes.

A bathroom singer

Barsha can be often caught humming songs when she is spending spare time at home. As she enjoys working in the kitchen, she ensures to keep herself entertained through her preferred list of songs while working in the kitchen. “Although I don’t consider my voice to be mellifluous, I make sure to hum all day long whenever I am home,” she said.

A Sweets lover

Barsha is not someone who craves for sour and spicy foods, but she can’t have enough of sweets. She shared her experience about her last visit to Australia where she had tried some sea foods that she rarely liked and went out in search of a sweet store.

A movie lover

Barsha is fond of watching movies in theaters, however; she is hardly picky about the genre. She enjoys Nepali movies and is observant of actors doing justice to their roles. “I recently ended up watching ‘Dui Rupaiya’ three times as a critic to the movie, picking out its flaws and strengths,” said Barsha.
