Fashion tips for Festive Season

Festive season demands a lot from the already busy Nepali woman. Apart from managing the household tasks and working in the office, you also have to make time for a number of things like shopping, feasts and celebrations. And not staying fashion forward isn’t an option during this time. Here are some fashion tips that would help you out during the festive season, be it Eid, Diwali, Christmas or any other festival you celebrate.

Go colorful with Anarkali suits

When thinking of wearing a traditional suit, don’t go for the plain stuff. Pick up colorful clothes with cool prints. Wear bright shades as they reflect the spirit of celebration. Dull colors are just not meant to be worn during the festive season. On the other hand, even though we love embellishments, sequins, heavy embroidery, wearing heavily embellished and heavy suits is just not comfortable. But who said style can’t come without discomfort? Focus on comfort rather than design. Printed suits are super comfy and look beautiful. Go for traditional jewelry with this get-up but give a little twist by sporting single statement pieces a heavy waistband.

Go elegant with salwar kameez

When wearing straight suits or a salwar kameez, pick up refreshing colors like cream, nude and peach. Give a splash of bright colors to the outfit to enhance its overall appeal. Consider wearing pom poms/woolen balls at the border of the dupatta for a different look. Laced dupattas are also going great these days.

Go different with saree

Saree is one of the most versatile garments worn by women. Its graceful appearance defines the spirit of a woman. This festive season, instead of going for heavily embroidered and fancy poly georgette sarees and go for humble fabrics like khadi and blend it with fine traditional embroidery like phulkari or kalamkari. Keep the makeup and accessories minimal.

Experiment with different styles

There are so many new styles that have hit the market this season. A-line salwar kameez, gown styled suits, lehenga sarees, pant style sarees, lehenga style suits, palazzo style suits, jacket style suits and sarees are few of the most attention-grabbing trends.
