UML recommends 15 candidates

KALIKOT, Oct 9: CPN-UML has recommended names of 15 candidates for the upcoming provincial and parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on November 26.

UML district committee, Kalikot vice chair-man Ramesh Kumar Shahi and lawmaker Tularaj Bista have been recommended to the House of Representative under the first past the post system.

Similarly, under the propotional representation, central chief of Human Rights Alliance Min Bahadur Shahi, Youth Association central account committee member Wakil Bam and Mina Shahi have been recommended, district committee secretariat member Dan Bahadur Shahi told Republica Online.

UML has recommended 10 candidates from Kalikot which has two provincial constituencies.

Only Kurmaraj Shahi, former district chairman, has been recommended for the provincial election under the first past the post system of constituency-1. For the propotional representation of constituency-1, names of three candidates have been recommended. Those recommended are Radhika Shahi, Tara Shahi and Ratan BK, according to UML district committee member Dabal Bogati.

Likewise, three candidates each representing constituency-2 have been picked under the first past the post system and propotional representation.

For the first past the post system, Nagindra Shahi, CPN-UML district committee chairman, Tularaj Shimkhada, Karnali Kathmandu contact committee chairman and Yashoda Baral, a female candidate representing All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU) have been recommended.

Similarly, for the propotional representation of constituency-2, Bishwa Raj Bam, former acting chairman of district committee, Kalo Sarki, Dalit leader and Durga Shahi Neupane have been recommended.
