I’m a lie

I’m a lie

Curled hair, winged eyes and lips red,
Body hugging dress and stilettos blue
Had my first makeover for who knows who,
Going to meet a guy on a blind date

I’m nervous, feels like hours though it’s a ten-minute wait
Oh, he’s here, a handsome hunk with a nice beard
He continued complementing my looks, but I felt weird
‘Cause it’s not ‘me’ who he sees today

Today, I’m a character in a play
In reality, I’m a tomboy who loves a sweet girl
Just yesterday, I gifted her a chain of pearl
We kissed and dreamt of marrying each other

But I got slapped and thrashed when I told my mother
She told me I’m a girl, I should marry a guy
So here I am, an imposter telling him all the lies
I can’t go against my family, so I don’t know what to do
Tell me hypocrites, what would you do, if it was for you?

im, lie,
