Gandaki Int’l Travels appointed GSA of Aeroflot

KATHMANDU, Nov 13: Russian airline Aeroflot has appointed Gandaki International Travels as its General Sales Agent (GSA) for Nepal. 

The travel company will manage the overall business of Aeroflot in Nepal, according to a statement issued on Sunday.

Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Friday, Kidisyuk Sergey, general manager of Aeroloft, Nepal's expanding aviation market offers huge possibility to airline companies. “Looking at this possibility, we have appointed Gandaki International Travels as our GSA for Nepal,” Sergey said.

“We have returned to Nepal after a gap of two years. We have already resumed flights to New Delhi and hope to fly to Nepal soon.”

Similarly, Ram Kaji Koney, president of Gandaki International Travels, said that the company will try its best to persuade Aeroflot to operate flights to Kathmandu.

Likewise, Digbijaya Koney, director of Gandaki Travels, informed that more than 9,000 Russian tourists visited Nepal in 2016 and their average stay in Nepal was 19 days. “This means Russian tourists spend more time Nepal than tourists from other tourists,” he said, adding: “The cooperation with Aeroflot will help to bring more Russian tourists to Nepal. It will help both the countries.”

Established 94 years ago, Aeroflot currently has 200 aircraft flying to more than 300 destinations of 60 countries across the world. The average age of the aircraft of company is 4.3 years.
