Timebomb goes off, exchange of fires in Bhojpur

An exchange of fire has taken place in Bhojpur on Saturday while defusing the time bomb. The incident took place when a bomb disposal team tried to defuse the planted time bomb in Bhir Thaplo of Khadananda Municipality-13, Boya. Bikram Rai, a local cadre of CPN-UML, has sustained injuries and is in serious condition, according to the party.

Govt failed to provide security to election candidates: Poudel

Senior leader of Nepali Congress Ram Chandra Poudel has come down heavily on the government saying that it could not provide security to the election candidates.  A pressure cooker bomb was hurled at the vehicle used by Poudel while he was heading to Lamjung from his home town Tanahun on Saturday afternoon.

Bomb goes off in Rautahat, 8 injured, 6 critically

A bomb has gone off in district on Saturday that has injured eight people including a child. An unidentified group has blasted the bomb targeting a meeting of Left alliance that was ongoing near Radha Krishna temple in Chandrapur Municipality-5.

Series of bomb blasts to foil democratic process: chair Oli

CPN (UML) chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the series of bomb blasts targeted against the left alliance candidates have intended to the foil the democratic process. Speaking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport Saturday, chair Oli urged government to manage security to the candidates and voters at large to guarantee the elections.

Lebanon’s Hariri in France, says he wasn’t Saudi prisoner

Lebanon’s Prime Minister Saad Hariri arrived in France on Saturday from Saudi Arabia, seeking to dismiss fears that he had been held against his will and forced to resign by Saudi authorities. Hariri is scheduled to meet at midday with French President Emmanuel Macron, who is trying to mediate in the region to avert a proxy conflict in Lebanon between Iranian-backed and Saudi-backed camps.
