"[They] encouraged us stating that they were our children. Prakash is no more now. But we see Prakash in every youth of the country", said Dahal.

He said the solidarity the general public extended to him and his bereaved family was very important. "The support you extended at this hour of grief at the loss of our only son has given us power to cope up with this loss and grief," Dahal said, while stating that they are indebted to all the political parties and their leaders who expressed their condolences.
Dahal stated that his family had received condolence messages from different countries including from China, India, the USA, Australia, Africa and Asia and different countries in Europe. "I think the mass of people who voluntarily showed up on November 19 from the Norvic Hospital to the party's head office Paris Danda to the Aryaghat is the evidence of the respect that Prakash had earned in a short period of his life," Dahal said.

Leaders of various political parties, industrialists and businessmen, journalists, the chiefs and representatives of the diplomatic missions were among those present at the condolence meeting. They extended their heartfelt condolences to the Dahal family on the occasion.
