Supreme Court orders govt to take action against ex-DIG Silwal

The Supreme Court has considered that the performance appraisal certificates tendered by newly elected lawmaker and former DIG Nawa Raj Silwal to the apex court as forged. The court has ordered the government to take action against Silwal for tendering the false documents.

Development, prosperity are major priority: Leader Rijal

Newly elected parliamentarian, Dr Minendra Rijal, has said that development and prosperity are the bases for nation building. At a programme organised by the District Election Office, Morang, at Biratnagar today to hand over the certificate, leader Rijal said that he would carry out activities for the development and prosperity as the people of Morang constituency-2 who trusted and elected him.

Nepal stresses on power of trade to realize 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

Minister for Commerce Meen Bahadur Bishwakarma delivered a statement at a plenary session of the 11th Ministerial Conference of the WTO at Buenos Aires on December 12, 2017. 

Minister Bishwakarma said that Nepal is a staunch supporter of rule-based, transparent, inclusive and non–discriminatory multilateral trading system (MTS) as enshrined in the objectives and principles of the Marrakesh Agreement establishing WTO, Permanent Mission/Embassy of Nepal in Geneva, Switzerland stated in a press release. 

Marshmello  apologizes for canceling live performance 

International artiste Marshmello has apologized for canceling his live performance “Marshmello Live In Nepal” scheduled at Club Déjà Vu, Durbar Marg in Kathmandu on Wednesday. The event was organized by 61 Live Pvt. Ltd. Fans and audience were outraged and indulged in vandalism when the emcee announced at the wee hours on Thursday saying that Marshmello was unable to perform due to health reasons.

Nepal defeats Myanmar by 337 runs

Nepal has defeated to Myanmar by 337 runs in final game of UCC,U-16 Eastern Region Cricket Competition in Thailand, today. Nepal scored 350 runs in 35.6 overs, while Mayanmar limited on 13 runs by 11.3 overs. With this victory Nepal enter into semifinal.

UN Syria envoy urges Putin to have ‘courage’ to push Assad

The U.N. Syria envoy has called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to “have the courage” to push the Syrian government to accept new elections and a new constitution. In an unusual public appeal directly to a key powerbroker in the region, Staffan de Mistura told a TV interviewer the Russian leader should “convince the (Syrian) government that there is no time to lose” in efforts to reach peace in Syria after more than 6-1/2 years of war.
