Govt prepares proposals under BRI

The government has prepared development proposals under China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). As Nepal has consented to the BRI, preparations were underway to forward the proposals for discussions in line with the interests of both Nepal and China, said undersecretary at the Finance Ministry Yubraj Pandey. 

Minimum 39 seats for UML in Province 3,4 under PR

Vote counting under Proportional Representation of all election constituencies will complete today, Nawaraj Dhakal, spokesperson at the Election Commission said. So far, votes of Province 3 and 4 have been completed.  So far, we have finished vote counting of 71 districts. Final results of remaining six districts will be completed by today evening,” Dhakal said.

Baitadi HIV infected children facing hard time for want of basic needs

HIV positive children in Baitadi have been left high and dry as they are deprived of basic needs like education, health facilities and nutrition. The district has the official records of 18 children living with HIV, and most of them have already lost their parents, who were also the HIV positive, said Lokendra Panta, programme coordinator for the Multipurpose Development Society, Dadeldhura working in HIV\Aids field. 

Rasuwa produces cheese worth Rs 59 m

Cheese (yak) around Rs 59 million was produced in the past seven and half months in Rasuwa, a mountainous district. Such an amount of cheese was produced from four cheese production centres based in different locations. 

Cheese production centres based in Chandanbari, Gatlang, Langtang and Dhunche witnessed an increase in the production this time (from mid-April to November 1) compared to the correspondent period last year, the Dairy Development Corporation (DDC), Rasuwa said. 

Nepali Women U-19 team leaves for B'desh for SAFF C'ship

A Nepali team has left here for Bangladesh today to participate in SAFF Women U-19 Championship.  Member-Secretary of the National Sports Council, Keshav Kumar Bista, and office-bearers of All National Football Association, among others bade farewell to the 35-member team comprising 23 players.
