Seven Spices hosts ‘Aa Aafnai Bazaar’

KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Artist Samjhana Rajbhandari in collaboration with retired program manager of USAID, Sabita Shrestha, is hosting ‘Aa Aafnai Bazaar’ at the Seven Spices Restaurant in Kantipath from December 15 to 17.  The three-day event aims at providing a platform for communication to different business persons. 

The event features as many as 17 stalls of various organizations as well as individuals selling organic foods and vegetables, vases, plants, handcrafts, paintings, pickles and pashmina, among others. 

Aarati Shrestha, program coordinator of Socio-Economic Welfare for Energetic Women as well as a participant of this event, said, “We provide help, resources, support, courage and inspiration to socially and economically weak members of the society with the aim to uplift their socioeconomic status.” She added, “At our stall, we have authentic Nepali food like samaibaji and sel roti, candles, pickles and tailoring products, among others, produced by the women of our organization.”

Another participant, Dinesh Chaudhary, also a member of Shruti National Association of Hard of Hearing and Deafened Nepal, said, “We promote the right and empowerment of persons who are hard of hearing by raising awareness, advocating and providing skills development training to them.” He added, “Today we are selling different products made by the members of our organization like mango tea, handicrafts, food products and jewelers.”

Another participant and Owner of BK Dhaka, Chanu Karmachari, said, “Nepali Dhaka products specially made by women are on sale at our stall. This is my first experience at this kind of event, and I am happy to have the platform to communicate with other women entrepreneurs.”
