Utter negligence in question paper

KATHMANDU, Dec 24: The questions probably confused sixth graders of 49 community schools who were sitting for exams of Social Studies and Population Education.  The Nepali questions, translated into English were worlds apart and reflected utter carelessness of teachers and publishers.

The question paper became viral on the social media after Kedar Basistha published it on Twitter—becoming immediately viral yesterday. For example, one of the questions in Nepali asks students to define Village Development Committee. However, the same question, translated into English asks an entirely different question: 'How many levels of government are there in federal government system? Write their names.' The difference continues throughout the captured image that was posted on Twitter.

The exam carried full marks of 60. Nobody has taken responsibility of mistakes. However, teachers have blamed the printing press for the blunder as they had submitted correct translations.

Guru Prasad Dangal, chairman of Eastern Region Examination Board Committee called it a ‘technical error’ adding that the students were requested to solve the questions as per Nepali version.
