DANG, Dec 28: In what we call a ghastly manner constituting cannibalism, a wife has eaten the flesh of her own husband in the district.

Rishmi Mahatara, 64, of Dang Tulsipur Sub Metropolitan City-1 roasted four fingers of her husband and ate them in a fit of rage over domestic dispute,” said DSP Prakash Sapkota of Area Police Office,Tulsipuir.

According to police, Chandra Bahadur always used to thrash his wife Rishmi under the influence of alcohol.  

On Wednesday night, Chandra Bahadur returned home drunk. He started scolding his wife as always. Rishmi tried to control her anger for a while. He started beating her. In fury, Rishmi lost her conscience and put her husband’s hand on a chopping wooden block and chopped the fingers of her husband with a sharp weapon.

According to police, Rishmi put the chopped fingers into the fire blazing nearby and ate them roasted.

Police are investing the case whether Rishmi really ate the fingers or said so in a fit of rage.

Injured Chandra Bahadur has been referred to Nepalgunj after preliminary treatment at Rapti Zonal Hospital, Tulsipur.
