KATHMANDU, Dec 31: To commemorate the arrival day of BP Koirala and other leaders to Nepal after eight years from self-exile in India, various programs are being organized as Reconciliation Day on Sunday.
On this very day, in 1976, Koirala and other prominent leaders returned to the country standing on ‘National Unity and Reconciliation Policy’. Prof Dr Yagya Adhikari says that the reconciliation policy conceptualized by BP Koirala is still relevant for the current politics of the country. Dr Adhikari states that the essence of the policy is to be flexible enough to sort out internal predicament of the country.
Speaking with Shree Ram Paudel in regular program Nagarik Manch of Radio Nagarik on Sunday, Dr Adhikari stated that the current polarization in Nepali politics as the reconciliation policy could not be theorized till date though it was conceptualized four decades ago. Claiming that the politics in Nepal has lost its value and ethics, Dr Adhikari said that this has narrowed the internal structure of all parties.
