TAC beats Western Region 12-0

APF crushes Mid-western 26-0 as Sabitra scores 12 goals

KATHMANDU, Jan 2: Departmental teams Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) and Armed Police Force (APF) have started the second day of the 16th National Women’s Football League under the National Sports Council (NSC) Championship with big-margin wins on Monday. 

In the Group B matches played at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato, APF defeated Mid-western Region by a thumping 26-0 scoreline, while TAC beat Western Region by 12-0 on the same day. 

Sabitra Bhandari scored 12 goals, Anita KC contributed with five goals, while Anjali Yonjan put four, Rekha Paudel scored two, and Anita Basnet added a goal for APF.

Bhandari opened her account in the third minute while she scored her other goals in the 15th, 17th, 24th, 34th, 40th, 47th, 52nd, 58th, 77th, and the first minute of the added time. 

KC scored her goals in the 11th, 16th, 44th, 72nd and 51st minutes, while Yonjan scored her four goals in the 29th, 39th, 49th and 88th minutes. Paudel bagged her brace scoring in the 65th and 78th minutes, while Basnet scored in the 18th minute of the match. 

Earlier, in the first match played on the same day, TAC’s Dipa Rai scored four goals, Krishna Khatri bagged a hattrick, Indira Rai got a brace and Puja Rana and Sharmila Thapa scored a goal each in the win. 

Krishna opened the scoring of the match in the 27th minute for the departmental side and she completed her hattrick scoring in the 49th and 81st minutes of the match. 

Dipa scored her goals in the 44th, 63th, 69th, 78th and 82nd minutes of the match, while Indira bagged her brace scoring in the 72nd and 75th minutes. Puja got her goal in the 36th minute and Sharmila scored in the 54th minute to complete the rout for TAC. 

The other departmental team Nepal Police Club (NPC) will face Far-western Region on Tuesday, while Eastern Region will take on Central Region later on the same day.  A total of eight teams including five regional sides and three departmental outfits are taking part in the competition.
