KATHMANDU, Jan 8: Senior orthopedic at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Dr Govinda KC has begun his hunger strike from Monday afternoon at 4 pm.

Earlier in the day, organizing a press meet, Dr KC informed that he is beginning the hunger strike for 14th times demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli. He demanded probe upon CJ Parajuli.

Supreme Court, on Sunday, had ordered to reinstate Dr Shashi Sharma as Dean at Institute of Medicine (IOM), following which Dr KC has decided to begin the hunger strike. SC ordered sacked dean Dr Sharma to get back to the position of dean even though only four days of his tenure remain from Sunday.

During the press meet, Dr KC accused the apex court of being influenced by the medical mafia for issuing the verdict in favor of Dr Sharma after four years.

Likewise, Dr KC has asked the government to constitute Medical Education Commission immediately and to continue the tenure of Dr Jagdish Agrawal, who is currently dean of IOM as per seniority.
